::Food Foundry @ Happy Mansion PJ::

Wondering what to have and where to go for the besties birthday, again as usual, clicking around foodblogs and eventually I came into a blog introducing this place. What attracted me was the mille crepe as the coliq just talk about the recipe to me. So after receiving confirmation from the besties, I decided to have their birthday dinner here. :)
It's really located at neighbourhood. A very unexpected place that I don't think we can find without a GPS. It's in an housing area - a shop below the flats. Three of us arrived at the same time (You know, from the first day I know the both of you, the both of you has always be punctual - very punctual .. stress! Haha..) and we wonder are we on the right place as it doesn't look like those in pictures and the location is quite weird. Anyhow .. yes, we are on the right place! :)
The Ice Lemon and Peach Tea. RM3/each.
Foundry Caesar Salad RM12
Chicken Cordon Bleu RM17

Food Foundry Chicken Chop RM16
Aglio Olio Prawns Spagetthi RM18

Smoked Salmon Cream Sauce Spagetthi RM17

Pan Fried Dory Cream Sauce RM15

Chocolate Mille Crepe RM9

Strawberry Mille Crepe RM9
Vanilla Mille Crepe RM9
Almond Tiramisu RM11

The three of us :) Besties forever!~

p/s : comment on the foods - for me it is just normal. Well .. but for the price of below RM20, you can't put too high expectation don't you? While for the cakes .. I prefer the tiramisu more. Hehe.. the mille crepe too is not as what I expected. Smooth and melt on the tongue. Hrmm.. my tongue couldn't melt it =.=lll I guess the cake is not cold enough as we I took so long time taking pictures of the cakes.

::The Loaf @ Harbour Park Langkawi::

This is in my list to try. The Loaf. Open by our own Tun Dr Mahathir.

Read from reviews saying that this is a high end restaurant. But I still want to try. Hehe..

The interior. Nice ambience with nice Harbour Park view outside. View? Ships. *I don't think we call those as ships* Spending moments here suddenly make me feel rich. LOL.
We were handed with menu when we arrive. I browse through looking for pastries, cakes, breads but I couldn't find one. At that moment, I thought I was on the wrong place nor review the wrong foodblogs of others. @@ Anyhow... we just proceed to place our order from the menu.
And right after that only I notice the breads, pastries, cakes were on the shelves at one corner. :(
But no regrets :)
Earl Grey. Very nice with brown sugar :)
I always had a fond with english teas. :)
Salmon pasta RM38+ (I think so)
Tasted very very very very nice! 2 thumbs up~ :)
Thus far, this is the best pasta we ever tried.

Spagetthi Bolognese RM28+
Despite the very heavy taste of beef, but yes, it is very generous with the meats and taste very nice as well. Still Salmon pasta is nicer.. Hehe.. Because it is special!
p/s : definitely will come back for more.. perhaps the KL branch. I wonder does they have the same menu :)

::Lan Kwai Fong @ Pantai Cenang, Langkawi::

We initially wanted to have our first day lunch here, but to no avail, the foods is sold out. Wondering what so special with this place as so many people flocks in, we decided to give it a try for dinner on second day.

It is located right in front of UnderWater World at Pantai Cenang.

Ice Lemon Tea and Honey Milk

The set meal of RM13+ (if I'm not mistaken), Prawn fried rice, which comes with a soup, salad, ice lemon tea and dessert. My translation in my own opinion - a pathetic one piece of shrimp on a normal fried rice, with an empty bowl of soup which strongly taste of pepper, that I suspected this soup is use to cook the 'salad' as both the overboiled salad and the empty soup taste the same, and a piece of muffin that makes me happy because my muffin looks better than it. =)
Mee-I-Forgot-The-Name. The same broth. Yes.
And the chicken chop, fish fillet and sausage that comes in a set with the mee.
"Impressive" size of it. At first I thought this may be a great deal. With the price of below RM20, a bowl of mee comes with so many side dishes. *Shake head disappointingly*

p/s : my tastebuds transmits that this doesn't taste good and my tummy growls that it's not worth. But what can you say for this pricing of foods at a tourist hotspot like Langkawi, isn't it? IDK. And I finally understood that the flocks of people is same as us, due to the big banner claiming cheap foods. The power of advertisement :)

::Tomato Nasi Kandar @ Pantai Cenang, Langkawi::

I'd always have that sense of Langkawi is an expensive place to go for local holidays. Which I guess is not so wrong after all. Trying to minimize our budget to maximize our trips, I'd do some survey of restaurants with nice and cheap foods and this is one of it.
Restoran Nasi Kandar Tomato. Yep. Just a normal typical mamak restaurant. Pricing is same as KL's mamak. Which means affordable. Taste wise is not bad too. During Ramadhan month, it only opens at night - make sense isn't it? And this place is located by walking distance from our motel - Pantai Cenang.
Teh Tarik Ais and Teh Halia. *I already forgotted the price of all the foods we savour on as it was quite some time ago already. But be assured that it is still around RM1.50 each - I mean this tea*
Nasi Beryani Ayam Masak Merah. Nice :)
Nasi Goreng Cina + Ayam Goreng. The fried chicken is nice.. the fried rice is kinda oily to me. But take no offence, I always find mamak's foods oily. Hehe..

p/s : for a budget foods to go, this can be a choice :)

::Melati Cafe @ Pantai Cenang, Langkawi::

After check in to our motel, we wandered around looking for some foods for lunch. Time is already almost 2pm and to my not so surprise, most of the restaurants have ran out of foods for lunch session. So we end up at this Melati Cafe opposite our Melati Tanjung Motel. *I wonder is it from the same owner*
Mango and Orange juice to soothe the thirst. The weather is really scorching hot! @@

Carbonara Spaghetti .. thumbs up. :)
Dono what Pizza. Thumbs down.

Overall the foods is so-so only. Price is normal, ranging from rm15-rm30. Ambience is none. Hehe.. but it soothe our hungry tummy, and that's what important for us that day :)

.:3D 2N Langkawi Trip:.

Tada~ the expensive air ticket. The first trip. The Langkawi :)

Arriving Langkawi :)
Our first meal at Langkawi. The lunch at Melati Cafe *will be update at eat.*
Our first destination after check in our motel. BTW, we stayed in Melati Tanjung Motel which cost RM100/nite. Under construction as well, but a lot of improvement compared to the pictures we seen in websites. New and clean rooms. Worthy.
Telaga Tujuh Waterfall. You have to climb up 600+ stairs to reach the top just to see this! @@
I know .. you can picnic here and also swim or play with the water. But we never thought or plan for that and heck .. we climb up so many steps just to see this? Picnic in the hot scorching sun? No thanks. We then 'roll' down the steps again which resulted in muscle pain after that.

We stop by Harbour Park. A lot of nice ships there. But we only can take pictures of it. LOL.
We spent our evening at Pantai Kok. There is construction on the road, so we get quite blur of the exact entrance to Pantai Kok. Nevertheless, we just drive through the trees to get in. Hehe..
We had our dinner here at Tomato Nasi Kandar *nice and cheap mamak - compare to other restaurants in Langkawi. Will be update at eat. later* After dinner we had a walk along Pantai Cenang. The nightlife here is about shops where you can get some clothes, batiks, souvenirs. A whole street of shops. Nice one. :)

Day 2 .. 290810

First stop after breakfast were : Eagle Square & Lagenda Park at Kuah Town.

Second was Galeria Perdana. Entrance fees is RM5. Quite worth.

Third was Air Hangat Village. The place was under construction, but we meet a families and we join them to soak our tired feet into the pond of hot water. Hehe .. nice one but not advisable as looks quite dirty due to construction.

Next was Tanjung Rhu. Nice beach but nothing much can be done there.

Pantai Pasir Hitam. *laugh* You can only view this seaside from above. I mean, it is not allowed to go down to the seaside. They built stalls for foods and benches, and you can only watch the sea from there. Pillars were built to avoid you from going down. Maybe there is a way to go down to the seaside but I didn't saw any and I didn't saw any human down there too. Not interesting.

After a short stop here and bought some dried sotongs *those edible one*, we then headed to Makam Mahsuri. Entrance fees is RM5. And also .. nothing interesting.

We then headed to Atma Alam Batik. The friendly staff there will bring you around and show you how batik was make. *thumbs up to the friendly staff* .. but also .. nothing interesting to see.

Beras Terbakar. A very very very super tiny piece of land. Yes, believe what you see in the picture. It is just only that small area been gazzeted for historical keep. The location of this place is quite weird as well as you had to walk past shops into a some sort of housing area. Ahh.. you can skip this as well. Not interesting. This is our last stop for Day 2 as we felt tired and bored already.

We had our dinner here (will be updated at eat.) This place sucks.

Day 3 .. 300810.

Day 3 .. the last day for this trip. We started our day with morning walk at Pantai Cenang which is in front of our motel. Wanted to watch sunset but the weather is not too good, so we just spend the time camwhoring and seaside walk :)

Our grand breakfast at The Loaf, Telaga Harbour (will be update on eat.) Seriously a nice place. If not for chasing time, we could have sit longer here enjoying our cups of tea :)

Places to go on day 3 includes Oriental Village, Langkawi Geopark and Langkawi Cable Car. This was suppose to be on first day itinerary as it is along the way to Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls, but we had to postponed it as my camera run out of battery *bummer*. To my surprise, all three is at the same place. We didn't went into Langkawi Geopark. Oriental Village is some sort like shopping places, with shops selling clothes and batiks. Didn't bought any though as the price is a bit higher compare to those at Pantai Cenang.

Bad luck .. Cable Car is close for maintenance. Shites.

The last destination in Langkawi before we rush to Kuah Town for a quick chocolate shopping spree before depart back to KL. The UnderWater World. Entrance fees RM28. Opening Hours : 930am-830pm. My personal opinion is .. not worth.
Overall .. the trip is so-so only. Not much interesting place to go at Langkawi. Prices is expensive. An expensive trip. But a memorable one :)
