Brew & Bread, Kota Kemuning

It was one tiring weekend when I felt missing the moment of hanging around cafe having a cup of coffee, a slice of cake and a magazine in hand. I lodge a complaint. So he brought me to a nearby cafe. Brew & Bread Cafe, Kota Kemuning  =D
Chilled Mint Mocha Ice Blended RM9.
However, my tongue best rated mocha ice blended still goes to Starbucks. Perhaps it's the addiction of my taste bud.
And whenever at cafe, I also love to order a slice of cake. Just to see how was others tasted compared to mine. Cakes from Brew & Bread cost RM7/ slice. I would rate it expensive for that size.
My pick of the day was carrot walnut cake. The texture was soft. But because I could make this too, so it's not a surprise for me.
Cappuccino RM7.
Prawn Aglio - Olio.
bell pepper, prawns, ham, extra virgin olive oil, wild mushrooms, dried chilli, chilli flakes
This tasted good. Somehow the portion is too small and not filling enough for his tummy.

This can be a place for consideration to hang out with friends especially the location is just around the neighborhood.

Kiraku @ Manjalara

I was looking for a decent Japanese restaurant with budget-friendly price when my sis introduce me to Kiraku, Cyberjaya. I then brought him there for his birthday celebration and we agree that the food and restaurant environment was good for this price range menu. On one fine day, we were surprise to find one branch in Manjalara, Kepong. So we decided to have another mini celebration there.
Saba shioyaki set RM28. This is always one of my favorite order when it comes to set meal.
Perhaps some day I should make this on my own.
Sushi & Udon Set RM35. This is also one of my favorite order when I feel like eating sushi but also wanted to have some soup.
Tonkatsu RM26. This is my least favorite order. Just because I don't really favor deep fried foods.
Caterpillar Roll RM20.

Overall, the foods was pretty decent and it is consider budget-friendly when it comes to Japanese foods.

Eggs benedict. Poached eggs served with turkey ham, sautéed greens, and mushrooms on wholemeal toast topped with hollandaise sauce. RM15. Not worth.
Fluffy pancakes. Made-to-order pancakes with fresh fruits, syrup, and butter. Very normal.

Guilin Day 3

Walking along the street nearby our hotel and we found a noodle shop with lots of people. Curious, we went to have a look and ordered what the locals eat.
Noodles with soup.
Dry noodles. Well.. both taste very plain to me.
We then have a walk around the lake enjoying the view of the 2 pagoda.
Feeling bored, we walk back to hotel and book a half day tour to Li Shan Jie Village.
Cultural things doesn't really interested me though.
We end our trip with a boat cruise along 2 river and 4 lakes.
The boat cruise is quite worthy because there's a lot to see during the 1.5 hour boat ride.

Overall, Guilin doesn't really impressed me much. Yangshou did. If you plan to have a trip to Guilin - Yangshou, I would suggest you to spend more days in Yangshou or perhaps extend it to Long Jing.
This trip is quite budget as well, as overall usage for 4D3N cost damage of about RM600/ pax only.

Guilin - Yangshou Day 2: Part 2

We had our lunch at hotels' cafe again before depart back to Guilin.
Mix Vegie.
Curry Beef.
The famous dish in Yangshou - Beer Fish! Taste ok only but a lot of bones.
We arrived Guilin about 3pm and have a stroll around the small city after check in to our hotel. We stayed in Guilin Sapphire Hotel which cost RM332 for 2 night. Room consist of 3 single bed.
We arrived Zhong Shan Zhong Lu. There is an area with food stalls. We tried a few of their junk foods.
Grill Sotong, China style. It tasted the same with those I had in Shenzhen.
We walk to river bank and had a boat ride to Elephant Trunk Hill. The boat ride cost RMB75 for 3 of us, after bargaining. Of course, we are not allow to go into the hill. We just allowed to watch it from our boat. There is entrance fees to enter Elephant Trunk Hill, which we did not invest on.
When the night comes, stalls are set up along the road in front of our hotel.
And we had this as dinner from the streets. Not manage to finish it up due to I'm unable to accept the taste.

And that's for Day 2 of our trip.

Guilin - Yangshou Day 2: Part 1

Good Morning Yangshou~
Waking up to fresh air :)
We grab our quick breakfast from hotel's cafe.
Xiu long bao.. which is not the normal xiu long bao I had. This is mini bun. Yikes.
English Breakfast. Normal.
Our tour for today is Li River Rafting. We booked the tour with our hotels' tour desk. Cost RMB150/ pax.
This tour bring us to the mountains printed on RMB20 note.
Just get calm and enjoy the scenery :)
Arriving at a stop, where all the tour boats will park and tourist hop down.
After enjoying some fried foods (which is not so healthy and delicious actually), we hop back to our boats and back to Yangshou.
Arriving at Yangshou, we had a walk along West Street. We bought some souvenirs before heading back to check out and back to Guilin.
